Model Context Protocol can provide a structured connection between an AI application and tools or data. It does not remove the need to evaluate access and tool behaviour. This guide assesses a proposed connection; Gavek does not currently offer a public MCP server.
Specify minimum useful access
Write the exact question the assistant should answer and the data it needs. Prefer a narrow read-only pilot before publishing or account-changing actions. Separate project access, available tools and permitted actions. A familiar interface does not establish that a server or its maintainer is trustworthy.
Treat retrieved material as data
Web pages, imported reports and tool output can contain text that attempts to influence an assistant. Such text should not authorise new actions or override the user's task. Review server provenance, authentication, logging and credential scope before adding confidential client information.
Keep review and revocation practical
Define which outputs need human checking, how sensitive records are retained and how access is revoked. Test a failed request and unexpected response as well as a successful read. Operators must understand the boundaries and be able to stop the connection without losing control of original accounts.
Put the method to work
Illustrative pilot: a team permits an assistant to read a non-sensitive list of page titles and suggest priorities. The assistant cannot edit the CMS. A person verifies proposals and separately approves implementation through the established publishing process.
Your next steps
- Name the pilot's permitted question
- Verify server ownership and authentication
- Use limited permissions and non-sensitive test data
- Document how to revoke the connection
Questions & answers
Does MCP make an SEO service accurate?
No. A connection format cannot guarantee complete or fresh underlying data. Check definitions and verify important conclusions independently.
Where should access keys be sent?
Use the provider's approved secure setup flow. Do not paste keys or passwords into Gavek's public contact form or ordinary messages.
