Practical resources

Build a keyword research plan your team can deliver

Move from customer questions to keyword groups, landing-page decisions and a prioritised research backlog with clear evidence.

Original guide · English & Danish

Keyword research should help decide which questions your website will answer and which pages deserve attention. Start with customer language and your actual offer. Build a research sheet that distinguishes observed queries, third-party estimates and ideas that still need validation.

Gather demand from several viewpoints

Collect sales questions, support terminology and queries visible in your own Search Console. Add ideas from a keyword provider if available, retaining the market and collection date. A provider’s volume estimate and your website’s observed impressions describe different things. Keep them in separate columns rather than treating either as an exact demand forecast.

Choose the page that should answer

Group queries by the task a visitor wants to complete. Compare the intended answer with your existing pages before commissioning another article. A product selection question may belong on a category page; a troubleshooting question may need a guide. Document the primary destination and useful supporting pages for each group.

Prioritise evidence and delivery capacity

Score the commercial relevance, evidence gap, implementation effort and ability to provide a credible answer. Do not let a large estimated volume override a poor match with your business. Give selected groups an owner, a brief and a review point. Check later whether relevant queries reach the intended page and lead to useful enquiries or sales.

Put the method to work

Illustrative example

A flooring business separates material comparisons, installation questions and product searches. It improves a category page for selection, commissions one installation guide and links the two where useful. The research sheet records which customer problem each page solves instead of demanding a new article for every phrase.

Your next steps

  1. Record customer questions and observed queries.
  2. Keep estimates and first-party measurements separate.
  3. Assign each intent group to a destination.
  4. Prioritise briefs the team can implement and verify.

Questions & answers

Do I need a separate page for every keyword?

Several phrases can describe the same user task. Choose a coherent page that answers that task well, adding separate pages when the intended answer or audience genuinely differs.

Does Gavek provide search-volume data?

The current keyword tool groups user-supplied text using rules. It does not supply measured search volumes or a proprietary keyword database; bring an existing data source when the workflow needs those figures.
