Technical & content SEO

Keep Shopify collections, products, and navigation working together

Shopify SEO is more than editing the search listing preview. Product information, collection architecture, internal navigation, and technical signals need to support the same shopping journey. Prioritize the pages that help customers make a confident purchase decision.

Guided workflow + specialist support

From signal to decision

Make the information
useful to your business.

A store can contain many URLs without providing many genuinely different answers. Collections, filters, variants, and discontinued products need deliberate treatment. Shopify supplies useful built-in SEO behaviour, but merchandising and content decisions still require attention.

01

Understand the baseline

Map customer shopping needs to a manageable collection structure. Give important collections meaningful introductions and useful navigation rather than creating nearly identical collections for every wording variation.

02

Choose the work

Improve priority product pages with accurate specifications, options, delivery information, relevant images, and answers to real buying questions. Keep titles and descriptions aligned with what the customer will actually find.

03

Verify and learn

Review the live storefront's canonical and indexing behaviour across product, collection, variant, and filter URLs. Check the automatically generated sitemap and submit the appropriate version in a verified Search Console property.

Use the free Gavek tools for a public-page snapshot and browser-based planning. This wider workflow may require Search Console, a third-party data provider, CMS access or a separately agreed specialist service. Live rank databases, automatic CMS changes and account integrations are not included in the current free tools.

Measure the useful things

A number should answer
a better question.

01

Organic revenue and purchases by landing-page type

02

Indexability of important products and collections

03

Broken links to unavailable or retired products

Ask Gavek
Do I need to create Shopify's sitemap manually?

Shopify generates sitemap files automatically. Check the store's actual sitemap, verify the relevant Search Console property, and submit it there; submitting a sitemap does not guarantee indexing.

Should every filter become an SEO landing page?

No. Decide whether it serves a distinct shopping need and can offer useful, stable content. Uncontrolled combinations can create many repetitive URLs without improving the shopping experience.
