Technical & content SEO

Make each language version a complete destination

International SEO combines useful localization with a technically consistent relationship between language versions. A visitor should be able to find, read, and navigate the appropriate version without being forced away from a link they deliberately selected.

Guided workflow + specialist support

From signal to decision

Make the information
useful to your business.

Translating headings while leaving navigation, examples, currency, or contact paths in another market's context creates a partial experience. Language annotations help describe relationships, but they do not replace localized content or guarantee that a specific version will rank.

01

Understand the baseline

Choose a stable URL structure for each language or region. Document which pages are equivalents and which have a different purpose, because only genuine alternatives belong in the same language relationship.

02

Choose the work

Localize the full journey: navigation, titles, descriptions, forms, error messages, examples, and relevant commercial details. Use a visible language selector that links directly to the corresponding page where possible.

03

Verify and learn

Implement consistent hreflang relationships with the appropriate language codes and reciprocal references. Check that the referenced URLs are available and that canonical signals do not unintentionally collapse all translations into one language.

Use the free Gavek tools for a public-page snapshot and browser-based planning. This wider workflow may require Search Console, a third-party data provider, CMS access or a separately agreed specialist service. Live rank databases, automatic CMS changes and account integrations are not included in the current free tools.

A few good questions

Clarity before you commit.

Need an answer specific to your business? Tell us what you are working on.

Ask Gavek
Is Danish content only relevant to users in Denmark?

Not necessarily. A language and a country are different targeting choices. Use language-only or regional targeting according to the audience and actual content rather than assuming they are interchangeable.

Should translated pages use English canonicals?

Genuine translations usually need their own intended indexable URLs and consistent signals. Do not canonicalize every translation to English merely because the business has an English default.
