Competitor Backlink Analysis Tool
A backlink connects another page to your website. Evaluate why that link exists, whether its surrounding content is relevant, and whether it helps a real audience. Counts and third-party scores are useful investigation aids, not final verdicts.

Make the information
useful to your business.
A small relevant reference can be more meaningful to a business than many unrelated links. Link tools see different parts of the web, and Search Console's links report is a sample rather than a complete inventory. No export should be treated as a perfect map of every citation.
01Understand the baseline
Collect a dated baseline from available sources. Keep source URL, destination URL, anchor text, first observation, and link attributes where known. Deduplicate observations without losing the page context that explains the relationship.
02Choose the work
Review a representative sample manually. Ask whether the page has a genuine audience, whether the reference supports its subject, and whether the destination provides the promised information. Use those checks before classifying an opportunity or concern.
03Verify and learn
Group links by purpose: editorial references, partners, directories, sponsorships, and user-generated mentions. Paid and sponsored relationships need appropriate qualification; do not pursue arrangements whose primary purpose is ranking manipulation.
Use the free Gavek tools for a public-page snapshot and browser-based planning. This wider workflow may require Search Console, a third-party data provider, CMS access or a separately agreed specialist service. Live rank databases, automatic CMS changes and account integrations are not included in the current free tools.

Ask GavekIs the largest backlink count always best?
No. Relevance, editorial context, usefulness, and the destination matter. Large counts can include repeated or low-value references and are not a business outcome.
Why do backlink tools disagree?
Crawl coverage, discovery timing, deduplication, and link definitions differ. Compare changes within one method and inspect important source pages directly.
